C20 Business & Human Rights sub-group issues policy recommendations to the G20
The Business and Human Rights sub-group, part of the C20 Working Group on Investment and Infrastructure, has issued its recommendations to the G20.
The different Civil 20 (C20) working groups have been hard at work for months elaborating concrete policy recommendations for the G20. The C20 Investment and Infrastructure Working Group is divided into two sub-groups: the Infrastructure and PPPs sub-group, and the Business and Human Rights sub-group, which is steered by ICAR.
The Business and Human Rights sub-group’s policy paper was elaborated jointly by civil society organizations from around the world, both through face-to-face and online discussions. It reflects global civil society’s priorities to ensure corporate respect for human rights and responsible business conduct. The paper states that the G20 cannot achieve its goals of fair and sustainable development without ensuring responsible business conduct.

The Business and Human Rights sub-group’s recommendations will form a basis for the Investment and Infrastructure Working Group’s final policy paper, which will be officially presented during the C20 Summit taking place in Buenos Aires on August 6-7th.
